EXPANSION

The company expects to reach Rs 1,000 crore in revenue in the current fiscal as it plans to increase its domestic presence and explore more international markets. It aims to create 5,000 jobs by 2024 in both technical and non-technical domains, said Yogesh Chaudhary, director of the company in an exclusive interview with retail. Discussing the business model, Chaudhary said they ship the raw material to artisans in the villages of Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Gujarat, Bihar, and Jharkhand, and after product completion usually, in about three months, it goes to their finishing center for final touches and from there it goes to various destinations.

In the last two years, it expanded its exports to 20 more countries taking its reach to 80 countries now. Also, it unfolded a monoband store in Milan, Italy in 2021 to cater to the increasing demand in the European markets. Demonstrating the impact of inflation on the carpet industry Chaudhary said, "Business sentiment was indeed down with the concern of inflation which is on an 8-year high." He appended that improvement in demand, relaxed Covid restrictions, sustained growth in manufacturing, and the rate of new orders have negated the impact of inflation.

Currently, the company uses wool, viscose, silk, and jute for making products. Most of its wool is sourced locally from Bikaner and some of it is sourced from New Zealand. Silk is imported from China and also sourced from traders within India.
